Samuel Garza Aguirre Obituary

BEEVILLE – Samuel “Sammy” Garza Aguirre, 62, passed away on April 2, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on September 2, 1961, in Karnes City, Texas to Francisco and Herlinda (Garza) Aguirre. He married Carol Bruce on Dec. 12, 2012, in Beeville, Texas. He had worked in the oilfield industry.

     He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco, and Herlinda Aguirre; three brothers, Frank (Josie) Aguirre, Alfredo Aguirre, and Adolfo “Duffy” Aguirre, Sr.

     He is survived by his wife, Carol Aguirre; one daughter, Amanda (Cecil) Daniels; grandson, Anthony (Lynnzey) Ruiz; two stepsons, Matthew, and Jacob Valencia; his siblings, Yolanda (Roy) Garza, Carolina Duenes, Sulema (Gregorio) Gonzales, Robert (Anita) Aguirre and Gilbert Aguirre and one sister-in-law, Eloisa Aguirre; his father and mother-in-law, Bob and Minerva Bruce. He is also survived by grandchildren, Shelby and Corbyn Daniels and great grandchildren, Liam, Grazon, Beau and Dominic Ruiz.

     A visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Friday, April 5, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 3:30 pm on Saturday, April 6, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. Pete Elizardo as celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Pawnee, Texas.

     Serving as pallbearers are Anthony Ruiz, Rene Serna, Bobby Saenz, Jerry Duenes, Duffy Trevino, Donny Garcia, and Ben Perez.

     Honorary pallbearers are all his nieces and nephews.
