Mark Richardson Edwards, 63, better known as Ricky Edwards, passed away on July 7, 2026. Ricky was born Dec. 9, 1962, to Olus Eugene and Barbara Edwards in Weslaco Tx. He was brought up in Donna, Texas.  He moved to Beeville to work at the Bee Co Livestock Market. He married Patricia Ann Dunn on June 30, 1984, and they had three sons. 

He was active in the FFA in high school. He would rope at the Sheriff Posse Arena in Edinburg. He worked for the Bee Co Livestock Market, Triple J Ranch, Sid Malone, Freddy Schauer, Ricky Haws, Bee Ag, Eddie Hons at Valero Refinery, and the City of Beeville.  He was a former Beeville Volunteer Fireman.  Ricky worked his way up from firefighter to Lieutenant, Captain and to Assistant Fire Chief.  He was over the Beeville Volunteer Junior Fire Dept Program.  He also instructed at area fire schools.  He broke horses with his wife. He loved working cattle in his younger years and later in life he hauled cattle with his sons. When his sons were younger, they spent their vacations at Livestock shows.  He coached their baseball teams.  He was looking forward to his grandchildren carrying on the family tradition. 

He was proceeded in death by his parents. Olus Eugene Edwards and Barbara Boyce Edwards; his siblings, Mary Catherine Edwards, Keith Edwards, Kent Edwards; his in-laws, Berlin and Rhoda Dunn and his dogs Clover, Thug, Chewy, and T.J. 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia Edwards; his sons, Mark Ricardson Edwards Jr. (Sarah), Dustin Michael Edwards (Maranda) and Colton Tyler Edwards; grandchildren, Brett Everett, Marcia Mayfield, Judd Taylor, Sterling McFadden, Peyton Goolsby, Ethan Edwards; in-laws. Ene Edwards, Debbie Edwards, Deborah Higdon (Jerry), Donald Dunn (Wanda) and Dewayne Dunn (Kim); several nieces and nephews, Julie Brann (Steve), Emily Hasel, Jasen Higdon (Tammy), Justin Hidgon(Brandi), Stacy King (Jimmie).  He is also survived by his great nieces, nephews, and cousins.  

Visitation will be held from 4 pm-8pm on Tuesday, July 14, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, July 15, with Pastor Smokey Neal officiating.  Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.    

Serving as pallbearers are Shiloh Sosa, Justin Bland, Mick O’Brien, Dick O’Brien, Richard Gomez and Travis Gomez. Honorary pallbearers are Morgan O’Brien, Braulio Sosa, Shane Sosa, Dr. Joseph Larakers, Mingo Campos, Henry Garcia, Marcus Arredondo, Freddy Schauer, Mark Morris, Dr. Leland Prowse, Dalton Brown, Robbie Guerrero and Ronnie Jones.
