Maria Elena Fonseca

Maria Elena Fonseca, also known as Elena, went to be with Jesus on March 9, 2024, in Beeville, Texas.

She was born on January 17 in Kenedy, Texas to Guillermo and Estanislada Saldana. 

She is proceeded in death by her parents Guillermo and Estanislada Saldana and Antonio and Frances Pequeno; one brother, George Saldana; two sisters, Nora Saldana, and Annie Espinosa and one niece Melissa Garza.

She is survived by her five daughters, Dorothy (Paul) Garcia of Brenham, Alexis (David) Sylva of Fort Worth, Vivian (Trinidad) Benitez of Japan, Veronica (Jason) Alvarez of Beeville and Krystal (Chad) Garrison of Japan.  Father of her daughters, Alejandro Soliz Jr. Fifteen grandchildren, who adored her. Five sisters, three brothers and several nieces and nephews whom she loved like own.

She loved music, dancing, and gardening, especially her favorite flowers- Zinnias and Marigolds. Most of all she loved her kids and grandkids- who knew her as Wella. She was a faithful Christian. She was loved by many and would never turn away help to anyone.

Her memory will be honored with services to be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beeville (609 E. Gramman St). A rosary will be recited at 12:30 pm and the funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm.
