George Barcenez Estrada

BEEVILLE – George Barcenez Estrada of Beeville, Texas passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, at the age of 72. George was born in Floresville, Texas on May 27, 1951, to Rogelio Estrada and Lucy Barcenez Estrada. His warm smile, kind heart and steadfast presence will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him.

     George was raised in Floresville, Texas and attended Floresville I.S.D and graduated in May of 1969. He moved to Beeville, Texas and retired from the City of Beeville.

     He found joy in fishing at Rockport, Texas and riding his motorcycle. He was musically inclined, being gifted at playing the trumpet, guitar, and accordion. He enjoyed viewing western movies and spending precious time with family, friends and his beloved four-legged companions who departed before him. He liked to cook, bar-b-que and even catered for special occasions for family members and friends through the years.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Rogelio Estrada, and Lucy B. Longoria; stepfather, Esteban M. Longoria and his brother, Robert B. Estrada.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Mary Jane Ramirez Estrada of Beeville; his siblings, Lucy Longoria Hernandez (Juan) of Poth, Texas and Sylvia Longoria Pairett of Floresville, Texas; sisters-in-law, Olga Gutierrez (Robert), Mary Elizabeth Ramirez and Zenaida Silva (Amado) all of Beeville, Texas and Gracie Minty (Robert) of Liberty, Texas. Although George didn’t have any children or grandchildren, he had many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

     A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Thursday, Feb. 29, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A holy rosary will be recited at 7 pm. The funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Oak Park Memorial Chapel with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

     Serving as pallbearers are Jon Stephen Hernandez, Timothy Cantu, Roland Herrera, Abraham Orozco III, Jacob Estrada, Augustine Salas, Andy Ray Estrada and Johnny Ray Gutierrez.
